Hey Mutt fans, we got not one but two super, awesome shows for you this weekend! Start of your weekend right at The Magic Room in Brighton on Beacon Street. Full-Blooded Mutt will be opening the night for Mother Ton and the most charming Manifest. This is a night that’s sure to please all and go down in the records of rock and roll hysterectomy, er, I mean history. Hehe. Come on down to 155 North Beacon Street, Brighton, Massachusetts 02135. It sure to be a stupendous adventure in debauchery for all! The place has a crazy lighting system and I hear their going to be projecting movies onto us! Yippie, hippy! The action starts at 8PM. Be there, if you know what’s good for you. *finger eyes*

The following night, assuming everybody survives the sonic apocalypse from the previous evening. Come on down to The Tavern in beautiful downtown Framingham, MA. Located at 102 Irving Street,Framingham, MA 01702. The Tavern is by far one of the best bars in the area, steeped in a long history, a friendly environment; within the past two years the owner has really turned it back into a local hot spot. Starting off the night of Saturday, April 28th, will be the most awesome, stoner rock/doom rock band ever, Problem With Dragons, at 9PM. Following their sure-to-be-epic performance will be my new favorite band, Manifest. With their mix of inspiring originals and rocking covers, their sure to leave a smile on your ear drums! Next up is us, Full-Blooded Mutt! I won’t even go into how we will turn your world upside down, and then wake you up early for breakfast. You can’t be a rockstar, without your rockstar breakfast (see Anthony’s Diner, Framingham)!! Closing out the night will be the ever loving, ever rockin Slobbies. These guys are just great! Good friends of ours, that we’ve played numerous shows with. The wolf pack, brotha! The wolf pack! Too bad they didn’t live so far away. I’m gonna try to kidnap them to the after-party that may or may not be happening…we’ll see. I see some Red bulls in your future, son!

That’s all to report now, Mutts! Busy few days ahead; I’ve got to restring two guitars, print some CDs and promote the ever-living-hell out of these events. As always, party on!

Recording Sesion is Progressing

The Full-Blooded Mutt recording session is progressing along nicely. We’re about to start narrowing down forty-three tracks that we have been working on, and focus on a few to finalize. We’ll be releasing a three or four song demo first, and then completing a full length CD. I spent about four hours this evening recording bass and guitar tracks. The next few days will be about the same, getting all these audio tracks to phase one of the project. After the songs are all multi-tracked out I plan on re-recording the guitar and vocals, adding re-amping. Here’s a sneak peak at the forty-three or so tracks we’ve been recording.

We just picked up a couple of show dates for your listening entertainment and debauchery. I just scored a gig for Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Magic Room in Brighton, I’m psyched for this one! Thanks, Honeybee! I been wanting to play this place since I first seen it! They’ve got some trippy lighting! Spacey! Yay! We’ll be performing with the ever-awesome, ever-lovable band Manifest from Salem; and one more TBA. Oh, and we is gonna rock de house!!!

The very next day we will be playing in Framingham, MA, on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at The Tavern -always a good time. Party hardy, people! We’ve had this one booked for a bit.On the bill for that night will be Problem With Dragons, The Slobbies, Manifest and Full-Blooded Mutt. Oh, this is gonna be one hell of a weekend! I can’t wait! One month from Tuesday! It should be just in time for the release of Full-Blooded Mutt’s three-song “single” from our new album. Oh…I know you gonna did this!

Then, on Saturday, June 30th we will be making another appearance at the always fun and energetic Paul’s Pub, in Methuen, MA. Put on your dancing shoes, and your party hat, people!! Get ready for some live sh-t!! We love rockin’ out with The Slobbies! The line up will be The Slobbies, Full Blooded Mutt, Cyanide, Insatiable Band and Peace Beneath The City.Woot woot!

Full-Blooded Mutt in the Studio

That’s right, Mutt fans! We are in the studio! Well, technically we’ve been in there since November, but only now has it been fully ready to record. We’ve just laid out about thirty-five click tracks or so, tons of new, never-heard-before Full-Blooded Mutt material. I know you gonna dig this!

We started renting Space8Studios in November. It needed some fixing up. We spent about five hundred dollars in material; four gallons of paint, spray paint, dead bolt set, about thirty “2×6′s” and about eight sheets of plywood; in addition to nails, fasteners, and other little doohickeys that a studio might need. After we spent a couple weeks putting all that together, we brought in all the gear and setup shop to practice. At first, there was just so much echo in the room; because it was bare of furnishings. All those bare flat surfaces just bounce the sound waves like madness!! Now that we’ve got a couch, desk, refrigerator and other decorations it was a such a nice, more damp sound.

Now we’ve finally set up all the recording gear, into a stationary position (had to move everything three times till I found just the right corner of the room). All the gear is dialed in and tuned up. Dylan just got a new set of drum mics, and the new drum heads are on their way. This is gonna be some recording! I can’t wait till we get further into it. It’s just at such an early stage -though the click tracks sound nice!

Ok. Here we go. I’ve done another round of HTML, CSS and PHP website updates; and it’s Mutt’s turn. At heart of the problem is an HTML code I based the entire page around. The code is an HTML Tag, “base href”. It is a handy piece of HTML code, but it seems to be interfering with some of the WordPress Plugins. Generally this HTML tag sets all links to start from a certain folder location or URL.

Now normally that code would be just fine, but since I’ve started using WordPress Software; it’s become somewhat of a nuisance. For starters it stops some PHP plugins from working. Listing blog URLs as it’s own hyphenated headlines is more professional and in line with major blogging sites. Not quite sure why, but it makes sense to see the headline in the URL.

Another reason that I have to remove the “base href” tag from all the pages on this site, my comment section is still not fully operational. The way it is set up now, the CSS style sheet link breaks from the comment box pop-up –I definitely gotta fix that. Also, I have been generating errors, trying to get the comment section online. Maybe that HTML tag is the culprit! We shall see…

In the long run thses updates will be better for the website, as we plan on growing the server and hopefully bringing our site on par with other professional musician’s websites. Possibly some kind of local standard in the talks. Hell, I would just start for a minimum wage for musicians. That would be cool. Well, anyways, ~~the site will be in various stages of disarray for an hour or so, while I bring the coding up to date~~ the site is up and running. The website’s pages auto refresh, so you should be able to see the changes soon after they were uploaded. Cheeerio!
